Does your child have a birthday, a special event or occasion coming up? Would you like to mark it with something memorable? Or perhaps you want to give a little someone a personalised gift to keep for years to come? If you’re looking for a present that is both educational and entertaining, you should consider The Magic of My Name. I got a stunning personalised book for my child!
What is it?
The Magic of My Name is a personalised book tailored to children aged 0 to 8. It’s one that you’ll want to keep forever, as the whole story revolves around the letters of the child’s name. Each letter has a special meaning attached to it and makes up part of the story. The book takes your little one on a magical adventure where the child is the hero of the story. And you can’t really go wrong with that, can you?
They’ll feel really proud of their name and of over-the-moon to read a beautiful book that they know is just theirs and can’t be anyone else’s – it literally has their name on it! And for a child, that’s unique, special, unbelievable and magic.
What we loved about our book
1. It’s simply beautiful
We have a hardcover copy, so I can’t comment on the paperback version, and it’s just really beautiful. It’s printed in ecological ink on high quality paper (170 gsm) in a landscape A4 format.
The illustrations are colorful and unique – in fact, The Story Tailors, who are the Barcelona-based company behind the books, are a team of professionals with experience in creating children’s cartoons. And you can tell they dedicated a lot of time and attention in getting the illustrations just right!
It’s one of those books that, as a parent, you want to put on a higher shelf – just to make sure it doesn’t get ruined. So you can read it and enjoy it with your child again and again (and avoid any tears in case the pages get ripped!)
2. I was very happy to give my children a personalised gift
My children have unusual names, so we’re never able to just pick up a mug or a bookmark with their name on when we go on holidays, for example. I can’t really describe the look on my 5-year-old boy’s face when he realised that when I was calling his name out while reading the story, I wasn’t making it up! He is just starting to read at school, so he could recognise the letters of his name as I was reading the story. And he just couldn’t quite believe that the book was about him! That HE was really the little boy in the book. His sweet little reaction was really emotional to witness, actually. Pure joy and amazement.
3. The story is fun and teaches good values
All stories start in the same way. The child is in bed and asks Mum about the meaning of their name. Mum tells the child that their name has a very special meaning, and she’ll be happy to tell them all about it. But now it’s time to sleep.
And when the child falls into a deep sleep, a beautiful fairy wakes them up and takes them “on a journey to wonderful places where you’ll find everything you’re looking for”. “Your name is very special, just like you […] Fun, surprises and adventures await. Are you ready?”
So the child goes through a magic door and is taken to marvellous lands, deep woods, deserts, mountain, bushes, green valleys and many other fantastic places. On the way, they meet charismatic characters, like the pizza delivery boy on a scooter in the middle of the desert! Who else?!
The child helps the characters with something tricky, showing values such as friendship, generosity and perseverance. In turn, the funny and endearing characters the child meets give them the meaning of each of the letters of their name.
So for example, you get A for adorable or amazing, D for dazzling, L for lucky, N for noble, M for magical and merry, S for sincere, U for unique, and so on.
How can you get one?
If you’d like to order your little one (or a very lucky child in your life) a personalised book, you can head over to The Magic of My Name.
It’s very easy and quick to order a book.
- Enter your child’s name.
- Pick ‘boy’ or ‘girl’.
- Select the skin and hair colour that best describes them.
- Amend the language (if you want the book in a language other than English).
- Add a personalised message to print on the first page of the book. So if you want the book for a special occasion, you can tell them in here.
- Check the book preview, so you can see what the story will look like before you buy.
- Pick between the two available finishes of paperback or hardback.
- And head over to checkout!
It takes a couple of weeks for your book to be printed and delivered. So if you would like the book to mark a special occasion, make sure you plan well in advance and give yourself plenty of time to avoid disappointment.
Did you buy a personalised book for your child? Or would you?
*I was given a free personalised copy of The Magic of My Name for one of my children. But all opinions expressed in this post are my own.
